Modularität

The term “module” developed in England in the second half of the 20th Century along with the growth of industrialization and referred to a standard part such as a structural unit or circuit element. The word was based on “modulus”, the Latin word for measure or standard of measurement. The German word Modularität, like the English word “modularity”, has come to mean the property of elements that allows them to be easily replaced by others thanks to standardized size and design as well as specially provided interfaces that guarantee the connection with the whole and ultimately, functionality.

To proceed in a specific way but without losing sight of the overall context and the desired result is the goal of an individually tailored and client-defined service. From a technical perspective, a fiduciary agent or consultant becomes a functioning link between the client, the client’s concerns, and the expertise of the staff members involved in the work. On a human level, this is what is guaranteed by in-depth, cross-hierarchical dialogue within and between different teams – but also between the respective disciplines and specialities. In this way, even single pieces of information become part of a meaningful context and combine to form a valuable and useful whole.
